A bolha extrai oxigênio dissolvido na água e
dispersa dióxido de carbono acumulado no interior. 

A teia que aranhas mergulhadoras constroem e enchem de ar para formar uma bolha funciona como uma guelra de peixe, permitindo que os aracnídeos permaneçam embaixo da água por longos períodos de tempo, um estudo revelou.
